Itinerary
Day 1: Airport to Entebbe (3.2 km)

Accommodation: ViaVia Uganda Entebbe, Entebbe / Similar
Guest will be picked up at their accommodation after breakfast at 8.00am and drive to Entebbe which is situated on a peninsula in Lake Victoria, the former seat of Uganda’s government, Entebbe is just a short drive from the current capital and offers plenty to keep visitors amused. This charming town features tree-lined streets and serves as an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your peaceful guesthouse in Entebbe. Your guide will be available to help with any activities such as shopping or banking. Your guide will visit you in the evening and introduce you to your fellow safari goers and give you a run down of the journey ahead.

ViaVia sure is an affordable and cosy alternative for your overnight stay. Add their top-notch hammocks, dazzling garden and delicious healthy food to the mix, and you have a truly heartwarming experience that’s very hard to beat.
Their notorious campfires make the ideal meeting place for people from across the globe. And while they have an excellent internet connection at the bar, reception and restaurant, their large population of birds doesn’t need any 4G to twitter twit all day long. ViaVia is a home away from home, but then slightly better! They even have romantic sunsets on request.
Day 2: Entebbe to Pian Upe Game Reserve (444.6 km)

Accommodation: Pian Upe Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas, Pian Upe Game / Similar
Guest will have breakfast at 8.00am and drive after breakfast we will travel East along the scenic route close to Lake Victoria. We’ll stop briefly at the source of the river Nile in Jinja and then move via the foothills of Mount Elgon and onto Pian Upe game reserve. If the going is good, we will arrive in time for a short evening game drive at this scenic reserve, hoping to find eland, ostrich, hyena and possibly cheetah.

Overnight: Pian Upe Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas
The Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is a conservation area in the Karamoja subregion of northeastern Uganda and features the Pian Upe Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas. Three of the bandas are self-contained and feature large beds as well as ensuite bathrooms whilst the other banda is not self-contained and has an outside washroom and toilet. Meals are served at the reserve headquarters.
Day 3: Pian Upe Game Reserve to Uganda (373.7 km)

Accommodation: Karamoja Overland Safari Camp, Uganda / Similar
Guest will have breakfast at 8.00am and drive after breakfast and go on a morning before heading north along the ridge overlooking the plains of southern Karamoja. After lunch in the capital of the region, Moroto you will head into the surrounding countryside and be introduced into the culture of the Karamojong. You will participate in daily life activities from preparing local foods, looking after cattle to celebrations. This will be an unforgettable journey, culminating in a night stay in a manyatta (a fenced village).

Day 4: Uganda To Kidepo Valley National Park 320 km

Accommodation: Kakine Self-Catering Campsite, Kidepo Valley National Park / Similar
Guest will wake up early at 6.00am and go on preparations Wake up to the sights, sounds and smells of pastoral life and after breakfast we will continue our journey north through the rugged Karamoja scenery towards Kidepo Valley NP. We will have time for a game drive as we enter the park before setting up camp at one of the campsites.

Day 5: Kidepo Valley National Park

Accommodation: Kakine Self-Catering Campsite, Kidepo Valley National Park / Similar
This day guest will have breakfast and watch the sunrise over the Morongole mountains. Then we begin our day of game viewing with a visit into the Narus valley in search of lion, elephant, giraffe, eland, zebra, and leopard and to marvel at the sight of the huge herd of buffalo grazing in the wetland. After lunch at camp you’ll have some time to enjoy the views before an evening game drive towards the seasonal Kidepo River in search of cheetah and ostrich. We’ll take a cold drink among the Barassas palms at the Kidepo sand River, from which the area takes its name before returning to camp for dinner.

Located near the Apoka Visitor Center in the Kidepo Valley National Park, this Rest Camp offers guests regional produce upon request. Food is otherwise not available, so guests must bring their own. The main purpose of the camp is to provide travelers and guests with a camping experience and wilderness encounter. The camp also offers firewood and clean water.
Day 6: Kidepo Valley National Park to Murchison Falls National Park 287 km

Accommodation: Red Chilli Rest Camp, Murchison Falls National Park / Similar
Guest will have breakfast at 8.00am and drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos that got wiped out in the Ugandan wild are being bred before re-introduction back in the national parks. When you arrive at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a guide and armed rangers will take you on either a walking/by vehicle safari to look for the rhinos and around 12h00 to 13h00 enjoying a bush picnic lunch in the sanctuary’s grounds. After lunch, guest will drive to Murchison Falls National Park).

Day 7: Murchison Falls National Park

Guest will wake up early at 6.00am and go on a Morning game drive for a chance to view the magnificent daybreak from across the open savannah, birds and dotted woodland as well as reverine vegetation along the Nile. Guest will see animals like lions, buffalo, elephant, giraffes, antelope and a lot more. Guest will be back around 10-11am, to have breakfast. Guest will relax around the lodge until lunch hour and go for the boat launch to the bottom of the powerful Murchison Falls. This 3-hour boat cruise climaxes at the edge of the rift valley escarpment at which point you will get off the boat and trek to the top of the falls (wear sports shoes while on the boat for ease of trekking to the top). Having worked up a sweat, once at the top, get bathed in the misty spray that the Nile creates as it forces itself into the 7-metre cleft to create the famous Murchison Falls. Guest will Your go back to the lodge for dinner.

We offer the only low to mid budget accommodation in the park, in furnished safari tents and bandas (small individual houses) with public or private bathrooms, as well as the only camping facilities with modern showers, toilets, cooking area and security lighting.
We are not a posh lodge with three course meals and all the trimmings but we do provide an authentic safari experience…and at a really great price!

Day 8: Murchison Falls National Park to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (125.2 km)
Accommodation: Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary / Similar
Guest will wake up for early breakfast we’ll break camp and head to Ziwa rhino sanctuary via the honeymoon game drive. (optional extra chimpanzee tracking). In the late afternoon, as the heat of the day begins to dissipate, you will go for your rhino trek. You’ll spend around 2 hours walking to and watching the rhinos. Although guarded 24/7, the rhinos live as wild and this is a unique opportunity to spend some time with these giants while supporting their reintroduction to the wild in Uganda.

Overnight: Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch
Situated in the Nakasongola district in the Central Region of Uganda, only 170 km northwest of Kampala, the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is comprised of a 70-square-km expanse of pristine wilderness. This exceptionally beautiful savannah and wetland area is home to Uganda’s only wild Rhinoceros, with as many as 19 southern white rhinos roaming the sanctuary. Though primarily a rhino zone, the Ziwe Rhino and Wildlife Ranch also includes a diverse range of other animals and birds including, among others: leopards, bushbucks, hippos, monkeys, antelopes, crocodiles and the rare shoebill. Visitors can look forward to a range of outdoor activities such as rhino trekking, bird watching, and guided nature walks.
Day 9: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Airport (211.7 km)
This is the last day of tour, the mountains of the moon diminish in the rear-view mirror, but they loom large in our memories as we return to Kampala and on to Entebbe International Airport for our flight back home.
