Day 1: Nairobi to Mount Kenya 245.4 km

Guest will be picked up at their accommodation at 09h00 hours and drive through lush coffee and tea plantations to the Serena Mountain Lodge in the Mount Kenya region. Guest will have amazing views of the wildlife right at your door as they are driving on the road. Mount Kenya is rising up from the heart of the Kenyan landscape, the snow-capped Mount Kenya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is Africa’s second highest mountain reaching an impressive 5199 metres in height, which is an awe-inspiring sight. Visitors can explore its surrounding forests, trout-filled streams and game reserve; or for the more adventurous, summit the peak. While Mount Kilimanjaro is an easier climb, Mount Kenya is more of a challenge as it has a higher technical difficulty, however, Point Lenana can be easily reached by a fit hiker.

Sailing like an ark amid the primeval forests of Kenya’s highest mountain, Mount Kenya, this timbered tree hotel offers champagne-clear mountain air, sweeping views across the tree-canopy, sparkling trout streams, and gentle forest walks. Located at 2,134 metres above sea level, on the lower slopes of the mountain, the lodge is cool, tranquil and hushed for optimum game-sightings. The open-air viewing-deck looks down on to its own water hole and salt-lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo. There is also a tunnel leading to a photo-hide, which offers spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities just metres away from the wildlife at the water hole.
Day 2: Mount Kenya to Samburu National Reserve 83.1 km

Guest will have early breakfast and departure to Samburu National Reserve which is Resting on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River and neighbouring the Buffalo Springs National Park, Samburu National Reserve is remote, hot and arid. The reserve spans over 165 square kilometres of spectacularly scenic landscape featuring rugged hills, undulating plains and riverine forests. After checking in guest will have leisure time and go on afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve Area

Guest will still spend one more day exploring the fascinating Samburu National Reserve. Early morning and afternoon game drives give you the chance to view some of the world’s most spectacular and exciting terrain. Enjoy this time spent game viewing – particularly the chance to see the “Samburu Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Somali ostrich and the long-necked antelope. You may also opt to visit a nearby cultural area.

The Lodge is built on top of raised ground allowing panoramic views of the distant Samburu Hills to one side and El Ndonyo Keri – the Samburu name for Mount Kenya – on the other.
Thirty cottages, forming a buffalo-horn pattern, converge at the public facilities area allowing the resident wildlife to access the lodge’s waterhole at its open end.
The architecture blends in with the area, similar to the style of the local Samburu housing. Each cottage has two tastefully appointed bedrooms, each with two queen-size beds, shower and private verandah. Local materials have been used in the construction, furnishings and interior decorations. High ceilings and space ensure that the rooms are airy and comfortable. Two rooms next to the reception and public areas are designed for the physically challenged.
Day 4: Samburu National Reserve Area to Aberdare 223.5 k

Guest will wake up to a nice breakfast and depart back to Aberdare which is Situated in the magnificent Aberdare Highlands, northeast of Nairobi, Aberdare is an amazing highland safari area featuring mountains, lush forests and steep ravines teeming with the best of Africa’s varied wildlife including the majestic elephant and rhino. This area is made up of the Abedare Mountain Range, which forms part of the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley as well as a vast savanna covered moorland plateau. Guest will make in way to Sweetwaters, a luxury tented camp. After checking in guest will have leisure time and go on an afternoon game drive. (night game drives are optional,and their cost is not included).

The Aberdare Country Club, only a two-and-a-half-hour drive northeast from Nairobi, is nestled on a slope of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley. This captivating site was the homestead of an English couple that decided to settle in Kenya. Almost a half century later, their home, “The Steep”, was renamed the Aberdare Country Club and opened for guests. Considered a heritage property in Kenya, The Aberdare Country Club has retained the charm of a private home with the simple comforts of a country inn.
Day 5: Aberdare to Lake Naivasha 126.5 km

Guest will wake up to a nice breakfast and depart to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is the highest of the Great Rift Valley Lakes and despite having no outlet, it is one of only two Rift Valley freshwater lakes. This beautiful lake is fringed by papyrus and acacia trees, a unique geologic landscape and supports a vast array of over 450 bird species. It serves as the main drinking hole for wildlife in the area such as zebra, eland, hippo, waterbuck, buffalo and much more. After arrival guest will take in views of the lake and its famous flamingo population

Naivasha is a Masai name given to the area, denoting the characteristics of the lake.
21 cottages are built in a crescent shape, and each has four rooms, totaling 80 standard rooms and Two suites. Two of these rooms are suitable for the physically challenged. Six of the 21 cottages have interconnecting rooms on the ground floor.
Rock gardens feature vibrantly coloured flowers, which give a beautiful contrast to the greenery of the well-manicured lawns. Monkeys play on the lawns and different species of birds chip in the trees. Pathways wind between the open lawns and frangipanis, with aloes and proteas growing in abundance. The acacia trees are plentiful in this area and provide welcome shade. The stone exterior walls of the cottages are carried into the rooms. Ground-floor rooms have two queen-size beds and a sunken living room at the front, which opens out on to the beautifully manicured lawns.
Day 6: Nairobi to Masai Mara 309.4 km

Guest will drive in the morning at 9:00am to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your lunch on your way and arrive in time for an evening game drive.
The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomises Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp with hot showers and flush toilets.

Day 7: Masai Mara area

Guest will wake up to a nice breakfast and then proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game viewing in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network that allows for close range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch by the hippo pool, looking out for resident hippos and crocodiles. Your dinner and overnight will be at the camp.

Overnight: Masai Mara Sopa Lodge
Located on the slopes of Oloolaimitia Hills, this is one of the first lodges to be built in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Guests are drawn to the ethnic design of this Lodge, which itself is surrounded by a landscape rich in flora, from wild olive, bitter aloe vera, croton and Mexican trees.
The Lodge has 50 round buildings , each with two rooms. Eight of the 50 cottages have interconnecting rooms. The honeymoon suite is situated at the top of the property providing an uninterrupted view. This very spacious suite has a king-size bed, a shower and a sunken bath. A spacious verandah is perfect to watch the sunset or enjoy private meals. There are 12 suites, each with a large living area, spacious bedroom with either one lking size bed or two queen-size beds, mosquito nets, en-suite bathroom with shower, coffee table with chairs and a mini-bar on request . The standard rooms equally have a choice of one king size bed or two queen size beds with mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with shower. Each has a verandah with two safari chairs.
Day 8: Masai Mara to Nairobi 309.4 km
Guest wake up and after a nice breakfast, depart for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park and then later drive to Nairobi, enjoying lunch on the route and arriving at your hotel in the evening. This will conclude your safari.
