Self-Drive Information
Emergency Services: Emergency evacuation services are included.
Drivers: A valid and unendorsed license must be produced by all drivers. The minimum age for authorised drivers is 23 years.
Fuel: The renter will receive the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. Upon the return of the vehicle/termination of the hire, the vehicle will be refilled at the renter’s expense.
Insurances: The rental vehicle includes Zero Excess
Rental Agreement: Upon renting the vehicle the renter and additional drivers will be required to complete a standard rental agreement with the car rental company. A valid credit card is required for the rental deposit.
Health: It is the client’s own responsibility to ensure that he/she is medically fit and able to embark on the tour.

Guestwill be met and hand over the Vehicle. The guest will have leisure time to explore the capital city. Windhoek is often described as a city with a “continental” atmosphere due to its architecture (historical buildings dating back to the German colonial rule), cuisine, culture, dress and educational institutions. Clients can do a city tour during the day and go to Joe’s Beer House where they will enjoy different types of game meat and enjoy their evening.

Windhoek to Sossusvlei (392.7.km)

Guest will depart in the morning from Windhoek to Sossusvlei area.The drive reveals the transition from Kalahari thornveld to the true desert of the Namib; Lilyveld, a valley 30km north of Maltahöhe, springs into bloom for about a week after good rains; Duiwiseb Castle is an interesting diversion 70km south-west of Maltahöhe. As they are driving guest will havelunch along the way where te will pullover by a big tree and serve lunch at 12h00-13h00. After arrival guest will have leisure time before going on a Sundowner drive to Elim dune around 17h30 or 18h00.

Sossuvlei / Sesriem Area

Guest will get early breakfast and drive into the parkforthe Sossuvlei Excursion which includes Dune 45, Deadvlei, Hiddenvlei, and Big Daddy. Guest will have regular stops to take pictures and have some exposure of the Dunes. Guest will be back around lunch time and will have some leisure time for themselves at the pool.

Desert Quiver Camp uniquely combines modern self-catering accommodation with comfort and style. Conveniently located a mere 5km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei, the inspiring scenery characterised by granite outcrops, spectacular views and roaming wildlife will captivate your senses.
The 24 uniquely designed self-catering accommodation units have spacious bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, shaded patio areas and private parking. Each twin-bedded bedroom features a fold-out sleeper couch to accommodate 2 small children (under 12) free of charge when sharing with 2 full paying adults. The patio is equipped with a barbeque facility, a fitted kitchenette with under counter fridge and 2 plate hob and a wooden bench for seating. Utility boxes with most utensils needed are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.
Leisure facilities within Desert Quiver Camp include a bar with a big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool overlooking the grasslands and Elim Dune, 2 communal bomas which are perfect to cater for groups travelling together, and a reception area that has WI-FI connectivity.
Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting desert activities to explore the area.
A fully stocked shop, fuel and an Internet café is available at the Sossus Oasis Service Station.
Sossusvlei to Walvis Bay 374.6km

Guest depart to Walvis Bay early morning at around 09:00 am from Sossusvlei to the coastal side of Namibia. It’s about 3 hours’ drive to Walvisbay. Along the way you will see the endemic Hartmann’s mountain zebra as you leave, stop at Solitaire, about 80km from Sesriem for some home-made bread and an ice cold drink, Kuiseb Canyon has some shady picnic spots, you can see springbok and pure-bred wild ostrich across the vast gravel plains of the Namib, the lunar landscape, look out for the welwitschia plant. Once clients have arrived, they will get lunch and after quad biking and Sandboard activity which is about a 2-hour drive. After the act Other optional activities can be Skydiving, Sandwich habour, kayaking, desert tour. There are a lot of activities that clients can do in Swakopmund.

Clients will grab breakfast and depart to the northern part of Namibia. their journey and the second stop will be in Otjiwarongo, where guest can grab lunch at the shopping centre before proceeding to Etosha National Park.The route is almost too short to stop, barring a comfort stop at Outjo and a picture of the Ugab Terrace. If time permits, enter Etosha for an afternoon game drive. Depending on how often you stop today, On entering the park, the first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and I suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way.Etosha has lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, springbok and elephants. This on top of many lesser and common plains herds, and abundant birds makes game viewing in Etosha.

Clients will take early breakfast and then go on the Full day game drive and around 12h00 -13h00 clients will have lunch inside the park and continue with the game drive up till the afternoon and after the game drive guest will have leisure time to enjoy the atmosphere before dinner.

After Breakfast clients will pack up and depart back to the Capital city of Namibia (Windhoek) Lunch Packs will be given to the guest along the way and arrival time will be estimated at 14h30. You have a 2-3 hours’ drive ahead of you today: along the way you can stop by Okahandja to visit Craft Centre and after the visit depart back to Windhoek.
