Lake Naivasha is in the East African Rift System. It is to the southeast of Nakuru, Kenya. Lake Naivasha is flanked by the plateau in the east and to the west is Mau Escarpment. The lake is flanked by extensive papyrus swamp. It is the highest of lakes. Its size and level fluctuate periodically, while its main tributaries are Melewa, Engare, and Gilgil rivers. Lake Naivasha has a beautiful lake and is located between Lake Nakuru rhinos and the Maasai Mara vast plains. This strategic location has made Naivasha Lake a popular stop among the Kenyan safari routes.

Road: The road route is winding and scenic giving the scenic Lake Naivasha shore to watch. Driving from Nairobi takes one and half hour.
