Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East National park (330.3 km)

 

Accommodation: Lake Jipe Safari Camp, Tsavo West National Park / Similar

Guest will be picked up from the airport in the morning and drive to Tsavo East National Park, which is renowned for its large number of elephants and the famous “man eating” lions. We will then arrive at Voi Safari Lodge, where you will check-in and have lunch. In the afternoon you will experience another game drive in Tsavo East before returning to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo East National park

 

Accommodation: Lake Jipe Safari Camp, Tsavo West National Park / Similar

This morning guest will depart on an early morning game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, they will spend the full day in Tsavo East National park in search of its popular residents, including well known predators, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos. During the day you will enjoy a packed lunch and a visit to the Aruba Dam. This park is home to some of the largest elephant and buffalo herds in Kenya. Tsavo East boasts a rich biodiversity and is said to be one of the last remaining wildernesses. Visitors can enjoy many wonderful attractions including: River and Lugard’s Falls; the magnificent Yatta Plateau; and Mudanda Rock, a natural viewpoint which overlooks a much visited and photographed drinking hole

Lake Jipe Safari Camp is located in the Tsavo West National Park, and situated along Lake Jipe freshwater lake, providing guests with ample opportunities for wildlife viewing. Accommodation consists of spacious and fully furnished cottages, equipped with flush toilets, hot and cold showers, and private verandahs. The camp features a restaurant which offers African and European cuisine and a well-stocked bar serving drinks throughout the day.


Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli National Park ( 154.2 km)

 

Accommodation: Amboseli Campsite, Amboseli National Park / Similar

This morning guest will have breakfast and travel to the Amboseli National reserve at the foot of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Guest will arrive around lunch hour at their accommodation. Guest will have leisure time and go on an afternoon game drive before dinner. Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park area

Guest will wake up to a nice breakfast and then proceed on a full day of game drive. Amboseli National Park is in southern Kenya. It’s known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.

Located within the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, Amboseli Campsite is an excellent option for a nature camping adventure. Visitors can pitch their tents on the designated spots. Restrooms are available at the campsite. The surrounding area offers activities such as embarking on safaris within the park and hiking.


DAY 5: Amboseli National Park area TO OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY 419.8 km

 

Accommodation: Sweetwaters Serena Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy

This morning guest will have breakfast and proceeds north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates, pass the equator to Ol Pejeta Conservancy arriving in good time for lunch. After lunch you will head out for an afternoon game drive. The conservancy provides a rare opportunity to watch the few surviving White Rhinos on the entire globe. There is also Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary in the conservancy which is a haven for abandoned, rescued and orphaned chimpanzees. It is one of the few places not only in Kenya but also globally where these amazing apes are found. Visiting the conservancy provides a rare opportunity to watch the world-renowned big five wild animals including the Lions, Buffalos, Elephants, Leopard and the Rhinoceros. There is also a large selection of other African wild animals like the giraffe, wild dogs, Zebras, hippos among others making the conservancy a popular tourist destination.

A sheltered oasis, clustered around a water hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.

Located on the plains of Mount Kenya, the camp features thirty-nine luxury tents, each with its own private veranda overlooking the water hole. The central Rhino Restaurant is housed in the former manager’s house of this once colonial farm, and offers both regional and international cuisine. Also within the house is the Kashoggi Bar and lounge, which centres on a blazing log fire. The Waterhole Bar, built in the style of a game-viewing hide, overlooks the waterhole and offers unrivalled wildlife-watching.


Day 6: OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY to Samburu National Reserve 136.8 km

Guest will have early breakfast and departure to Samburu National Reserve which is Resting on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River and neighbouring the Buffalo Springs National Park, Samburu National Reserve is remote, hot and arid. The reserve spans over 165 square kilometres of spectacularly scenic landscape featuring rugged hills, undulating plains and riverine forests. After checking in guest will have leisure time and go on afternoon game drive.

Day 7: Samburu National Reserve Area

Guest will still spend one more day exploring the fascinating Samburu National Reserve. Early morning and afternoon game drives give you the chance to view some of the world’s most spectacular and exciting terrain. Enjoy this time spent game viewing – particularly the chance to see the “Samburu Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Somali ostrich and the long-necked antelope. You may also opt to visit a nearby cultural area.

Day 8: Samburu National Reserve to Lake Naivasha 302 km

Guest will have a nice breakfast and pack up to depart to Lake Naivasha which is the highest of the Great Rift Valley Lakes and despite having no outlet, it is one of only two Rift Valley freshwater lakes. This beautiful lake is fringed by papyrus and acacia trees, a unique geologic landscape and supports a vast array of over 450 bird species. It serves as the main drinking hole for wildlife in the area such as zebra, eland, hippo, waterbuck, buffalo and much more. After checking in guest will go on afternoon game drive before dinner.

Day 10: Lake Bogoria National Park to Masai Mara (229 km)

Guest will have a nice breakfast and pack up to depart to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your lunch on your way and arrive in time for an evening game drive.

The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomises Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp with hot showers and flush toilets.

Day 11: Masai Mara area

Guest will wake up to a nice breakfast and then proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game viewing in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network that allows for close range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch by the hippo pool, looking out for resident hippos and crocodiles. Your dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
